About the 1 Minute Scalping Strategy
1 Minute Scalping is a momentum-based strategy that captures quick directional moves within single-minute candles, relying on price action and volume confirmation to identify fleeting intraday opportunities. The strategy exploits the tendency of liquid stocks to thrust sharply in one direction before consolidating or reversing, aiming to enter and exit within minutes.
NSE equities offer consistent liquidity during market hours, particularly in large-cap and mid-cap stocks, making quick entry and exit feasible. Volatility patterns tend to cluster around market open, mid-session news events, and closing hour, creating identifiable momentum spikes that reward fast execution. The 1-minute timeframe captures these micro-trends before they dissipate, while the 5-minute chart provides broader context to avoid false breakouts.
The strategy looks for setups where a stock breaks a recent swing high or low on a 1-minute bar accompanied by above-average volume, signaling institutional or retail participation. Price action confirmation—such as a close above resistance or a rejection of support—combined with volume expansion validates the move's legitimacy. Success depends on tight stops, quick decision-making, and accepting small profits. This approach suits traders who can monitor screens actively and execute orders rapidly during NSE market hours.
Who This Strategy Is For
This Intermediate strategy suits Full-time Scalpers comfortable with a 1-Min / 5-Min timeframe and holding periods around several days. It's built for the Equity segment on NSE, so it fits traders who can check positions without needing intraday execution speed.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
⚠️ Momentum strategies can give back gains quickly once momentum fades. A common error is not tightening stops as profits build, which lets a winning trade round-trip back to breakeven or a loss.

Frequently Asked Questions
EMA 5 and EMA 13 on the 1-minute chart combined with RSI 7 is a popular NSE scalping setup. The EMA cross gives direction and RSI filters out choppy entries. Always trade in the direction of the 15-minute trend to avoid fighting the larger move.
Quality over quantity. Experienced scalpers on NSE take 5-15 high-conviction setups per day rather than trading every signal. More than 20 trades per day significantly increases transaction costs and emotional fatigue, both of which erode profitability.
Use 5-8 ticks as your stop loss on Nifty futures scalping. For individual stocks on 1-minute charts, 0.2-0.3% below entry works well. Never widen your stop during a trade — tight stops are what make scalping math work over hundreds of trades.
Nifty 50 and BankNifty futures are ideal — high liquidity, tight bid-ask spreads, and continuous price discovery. Avoid scalping mid-cap stocks on 1-minute charts as low liquidity creates erratic price action and wide spreads that kill profits.
